Painting Challenge: Week 4 half way to go as it seems...

Following the latest news, it seems that in Europe, decontainment is not before first half of May. So between 2 to 4 more weeks of painting to do before capacity to play and buy new stuff!

I was pretty productive last week 4 lines cross in my list. If you take the update list:

Drukhari:

- a 6-man squad of Reavers

- 16 Kabalites

- 1 Talos
- 1 Archon - WIP
- 5 Incubi- WIP

Orks:

- 30 Stromboyz

Night Lords:

- 1 Raptor Gunship

- 1 Leviathan full closed combat

- 10 man-squad with meltagun

- 10 Night Lord Raptors

- One Praetor with Jump-pack 

Others (as in the first article but not listed):
- Esher Gang
- Skaven Bloodbowl team
- Necromunda terrain

Blood Pact : Wyvern "Blood Rain" ready for the fight!

I finished a wyvern end of last year for the Blood Pact regiment.  Nothing fancy, just the usual colors and details. I start using the bitz from my Drukhari to put more spikey parts on the model. 

 

Painting Challenge: end of third week, Blood Pact done, let's move on more Night Lords!

That is the end of the third week of containment. After I started working on the last guards for the Blood Pact regiment, I found that by doing a bit of kit bashing and bitz using, I can do an extra squad of special weapon (flamers). As a result, I finished the complete stock of minis for the blood pact with 16 guards rather than 10.

I also worked on my first talos, the result is clean, but I think that I can improve the skin, I am not a big fan of the violet, any idea to improve it?

Painting Challenge: end of second week, new Night Lords breachers and new sentinels for Blood Pact!

That is almost the end of the second week of containment, as I started working from home during this week I have been a bit less productive. I finished my breacher squad by adding a few details and I did the two scout sentinels for the Blood Pact regiment.

If you take the list:

Drukhari:

Blood Pact:

- 2 Scout sentinel

- 10 guards  => work in progress

- One Praetor with Jump-pack

For this third week, I plan on finishing the 10 man-squad for my Blood Pact, I did some kit bashing to modify their lasgun and the result is pretty nice.

After that, I hesitate between either the Night Lords Leviathan or the two Talos. Any idea of what to start with?

Painting Challenge: End of first week results and new manticore to join the Blood Pact regiment.

That is the end of the first week of containment and I can say that I have been quite productive these past few days in my painting.

- 10 guards (but I think I am missing some bitz for them)

- 1 Leviathan full closed combat

- 10 Breachers

- 10 man-squad with meltagun

- 10 Night Lord Raptors

- One Praetor with Jump-pack

That's a good start and we will see where I am in another week.  

In the meantime, I finished my manticore for the Blood Pact.

I even put some marks on the different missile to give Khorne's blessing upon the glorious victim of his wrath!

I also tried some new stuff that will be better on the next models in line for the pact: 2 new scout sentinels. But you'll see that later!

Painting Challenge : Day 2 - Blood Pact Basilisk

I continued the painting challenge due to this beautiful containment (Stay at home!). And the second models after the raiders was a Basilisk for my Blood Pact army.

As usual I put some specific Khrone marking on the model, a symbol here, a name there "Khorne Hammer"... Nothing fancy, but the usual details for this model to be correctly part of my army.
With the additional bits, I will be able to create more guard for the Death Brigade during my next kit bash (probably next week).

Next model on the list for the painting challenge: a fast Venom for the Winter Eternal Kabal.

Painting Challenge - using the containment to reduce the stock.

As you are all aware, special containment decisions have been made all across Europe to limit the dissemination of the new COV-19. It is our responsibility to stay at home, work from home and limit our travel. 

As a result, I, and I pretty sure you too, will have lot of time to paint all these nice minis that we have. You know, the one that we bought and then let in some boxes because of all the other projects that we have. 

It means that this containment is the perfect opportunity to work on them! And as it will last for at least a couple of weeks more realistically a month, it will be my painting challenge. 

At the moment, I am working on some Drukhari raiders and I hop to finish them today or tomorrow. After that, I have the below list to do:

Blood Pact : Latest Leman Russ with conversion of Gatling Punisher

The Blood Pact regiment number is increasing with the arrival of a new Leman Russ with a custom gatling punisher.

As usual with the Pact philosophy, they use imperium piece of equipment to weaponized and repair the captured Leman Russ. This one use some piece of assault canon link together to fire heavy salvo of ammo to the servant of the corpse-emperor. 

It is a Leman Russ with the addition of two metal assault guns of some old Blood Angel Predator with a bit of greenstuff to have a more or less clean result inspired by the tank of WW1.

With this one, the grand total of the Leman Russ available for the Pact is 6, 2 gatling punisher, 1 Plasma executioner and a mix of battle and destroyer cannon.

I am currently taking a short break from the painting of the Blood Pact to work on a specific Drukhari project for a tournament in 2020. I will finish a couple of post on other models that I finish recently then start presenting you this new army. 

Blood Pact: "Pask" ready for battle!

Another Tank commander is ready to fight under the Blood Pact colors. Let me present you my version of Pask in his Leman russ with lots of plasma cannon. he is now ready to lead the tanks of the host to victory against the Imperium, xenos and follower of other warlords in the Sabbat Worlds. If needed, I can also use this model as a simple Tank Commander or even just a standard Leman Russ.

Like the other members of the Blood Pact, his Leman Russ is old and hardened by battles. Some fresh paint or just more bloods from slaves may be useful.

I will tried a new method to do my free hand marking for this tank and I hope the result will be better than the two previous tanks. I will have two other hellhound to train before I do the marking of the Shadowsword, it lets me some time to continue improving my skills.

Blood Pact: Scout sentinel ready for battle!

My first scout his ready for battle, like my Leman russ, I will be able to change his weapon depending of my needs. At the moment, I will use him with his multilaser and a hunter-killer missile.

Rather than doing some free hand on this model, I tried to engrave a chaos symbol directly on him, the result is not as good as I think it can be. It was a first try and I will have opportunities to improve this kind of stuff.

I think in the near future, I will add two other sentinels to this squad maybe one with heavy flamer to manage troops and the other two with lascanon or multilaser.
