Night Lords : End of new Tactical squad and second Praetor

It has been a while but I finished the second half of the 4th Claw, my tactical squad of 20 marines. I did in the same time the first of my two new Praetor, the one in cataphractii armor. 

With his big Nostroman chainglaive, more a two handed chainaxe if you want my opinion and an integrated volkite caliver in one gauntlet, he is pretty cool. With the new Night Lords terminator coming soon, I cannot wait to have a big squad of him and these new models to send against the loyalist. 

In the meantime, after 3 terror squad, a big squad of “standard” marines is needed. I still gave a Nostroman chainglaive to the sergeant, he will be able to do some nasty stuff in close combat.

Next unit on my list: some raptors and the second Praetor.

I will start working on the new terminator Praetor this week but before that, let me introduce you to the 4th Claw of my company and also to a new Praetor that was nearby!

This is the "standard" Praetor available in the Calth box a couple of year ago. I just paint him in the Night Lord colors, but I don't plan to use him a lot since the release of the other guys!

The 4th claw on the other hand, will be my first tactical squad of 20 marines. I just finished the first 10 models and I will work on their sergeant and 9 remaining models in the same time.
They will all have some swords to take trophies from their enemies! A true Night Lords cannot stay long without some skin and bones on his armor...

Night Lords: Unboxing new Praetors and Leviathan Dreadnought

Thanks to Forge World, we received the Paretor the Night Lords need for the 9th company. I am more than happy that these little guys and the big one arrived just in time for the weekend!

So let me introduce you to the two new Praetors and the new Leviathan of my army:

First, as you can see, it is the jump pack Praetor (available here), with is big chainglaive, he will lead my raptors squad into new level of rampage and infamy.
The model is pretty nice to work with lot of details but not too many small or fragile pieces.

Second is the tartaros Praetor with the volkite, a classic Night Lords weapon (available here). I think that this chainglaive is just amazing: big and stylish. I will use the helmet head and I cannot wait to see him command either a terror squad or his own squad of Atramantar.

Finally, I also bought the new leviathan (available here). I will not show you the complete set as only part of it his specific for the Night Lords (torso, shoulders, upper body and details). Let just say that I was impress with the quality of this new models and the Night Lords touch on the model is well done.
Plus I think that if I don't use all the details, I will be able to put some on my old leviathan to give him a better "Night Lords" look.

I am currently working on a dozen tactical marines, but these guys will be on top of my list in the coming weeks.

Malgré le fait que je suis en plein montage et peinture de mon Blood Pact pour 40k, je n'oublie pas mes Night Lords.
En effet, je viens de recevoir une pièce de chois pour mon armée: Sevatar, premier capitaine de la légion.

Voila un personnage de choix pour mener mon "Terror Assault" et fiabiliser l'arrivée de mes terminators en plein dans les lignes ennemis.

Les grappes sont en bonne état et n'ont pas l'air trop dur à travailler, tout devrait bien se passer!

I am mostly working on my Blood Pact host at the moment. You will find why in a couple of weeks! But still, I did not forget my Night Lords.
I just received a little package with a nice guy in it: Sevatar, first captain of the Night Lords.

  Ok, he is not from the ninth company, but it will be an honour to let him command us. He will give us some punch and also help my Atramantars to arrive very close of the enemy lines.

The model looks fine to build, I will use his helmet head ans keep the bare had for other models.

Un marcheur de poids rejoint les rangs de la 9ème compagnie: un Dreadnought Leviathan avec sa foreuse et son multi-fuseur cyclonic. Un équipement de choix pour son rôle principal: chasser et détruire les blindés adverses qui peuvent dangereusement nuire aux Terror Squad et Atramentar de la compagnie. 

Prochain ajout pour ce soutien de choix: un drop pod pour l'envoyer directement au cœur des combats!

The Praetor Tribune of the 9th company is ready to join his fellow officers, the two consuls.

In his cataphractii armor and with his paragon blade with double chain-sword, he will kill in the name of Night Haunter with a squad of Atramentar at his back.

La Praetor Tribune de la 9ème compagnie est fin prêt à rejoindre le cadre des officiers de la compagnie avec ces deux collègues consuls. 

Dans son armure terminator cataphractii et armé de son épée paragon à double lame tronçonneuse, il ira semer la mort au sein d'une escouade d'Atramentar dans les rangs ennemis.

Après quelques mois d'absence, la 9ème compagnie revient sur scène avec un nouvel Horus Heresy Day Normand qui se prépare pour le début d'année 2017.

Pour se faire, la compagnie a besoin de renfort et état de se battre pour lutter contre les loyalistes ou renégats qui s'opposeront au Night Lord.

Les premiers renforts sont la 6ème griffe, une Terror Squad avec volkite et un petit gantelet énergétique pour le sergent. Une composition classique mais qui reste efficace en toute circonstance.

 L'escouade au complet d'une dizaine de membre.

Le deuxième centurion de la 9ème compagnie est prêt à rejoindre les troupes qu'il va diriger de sa main de fer!

Et contrairement à son homologue qui peut faire penser à un chapelain, ce dernier n'est pas là pour exalter ces troupes mais bien pour semer la terreur et la mort chez les victimes de leurs pulsions meurtrières. Son casque de son temps au sein des Terror Squad, son immense hache énergétique sont bien les preuves de sa volonté d'être la dernière vision d'horreur que civils ou soldats ennemis verront avant de finir en trophée sur son armure.

Après avoir craqué sur le Praetor Tribune, je l'ai monté en modifiant son arme pour lui donner une Paragon Blade avec des lames tronçonneuses à base de dent d'un xénos que le Night Lords aurait massacré lors d'un combat précédent.

Pour faire, je suis resté simple: deux lames d'épée tronçonneuse de space marine du chaos de 40k. En les imbriquant toutes les deux dos à dos. L'arme est ainsi bien vicieuse avec on l'image un mouvement d'aspiration entre les lames pour évider la victime de ces entrailles lorsque le Praetor lui porte un coup.

Je me suis également procuré une plaque de détail Night Lords de Forge ce qui m'a permis d'ajouter des petits crânes et ailes de chauve-souris sur les écussons et son renfort d'épaule.

After two months, the ranks of the 9th company get a few reinforcement with a new Terror Sqaud, a second Contemptor, a drop pod and a centurion to lead them to the heart of the night and the fight!

A third Terror Squad, a second centurion are currently work in progress. After that, I have several option:
- working on my new order from Forge World
- working on a Praetor (the Tribune or the Betrayal at Calth model)
- getting the last piece I need and I will be able to create my own Command Squad for the company

Après 2 mois, la 9ème compagnie au rapport!

Après deux mois, les rangs de la 9ème compagnie se sont bien remplis avec une nouvelle Terror Squad, un deuxième Contemptor, un drop pod et le centurion pour mener ces vaillants guerriers de la nuit au combat.

Une troisième Terror Squad ainsi qu'un second centurion sont en cours de peinture. Ensuite, je pense me consacrer soit à ma nouvelle commande Forge qui arrive bientôt (vous découvrirez vite ce qu'elle contient!) soit à la peinture d'un Praetor, soit le Tribune soit celui de Betrayal at Calth. Une autre option est de récupérer les dernières pièces dont j'ai besoin et de créer ma command Squad pour la compagnie.

Il faut un peu de leadership pour mes Night Lords, j'ai donc fini mon premier QG: un centurion de la boite Betrayal at Calth, simple et sans conversion.  

Je vais le jouer en Delegatus pour rester dans l'idée d'un vétéran Terran de la légion. Mon second centurion en cours de peinture sera plus excentrique, je vous le présenterai bientôt!

My Night Lords need some leadership so I finished my first Centurion. I used the models from Betrayal at Calth for this first HQ.

I am thinking of playing him like a Delegatus. I have a second Centurion that I am currently painting, you'll see him soon.
