In a different style from the other Night Lords Books, we follow the two parallel story of Sahaal and Mita Ashyn.
The author takes time to describe the memories of Sahaal, event from the Horus Heresy when Konrad Curze was still walking with his legion.Sahaal a still the vision of what the Night Lords might be before ten thousand years of decadence.
The hive city of Equixus is described with a lot of details. The life of the citizens from underhive to the spire is described and tell us what it means to be one man between billions.
I appreciate the book, it shows us another vision of the Night Lords, not a vision of warband and mighty daemon prince, but the vision of the strategy and logic of a single commander from the heresy.
